It's Marathon Monday! 🎽 👟

Happy Marathon Monday!

If you're local and interested, I hope you've found a great spot to cheer on the runners. The energy from spectators really is different than in any other race - it's just so present the entire time!

Shaun Provost, Founder of Live Unbreakable, speaks to this, and more, as a guest author in her latest article on the Epicenter Training site:

You can tell from her reflections, and I'm sure you've seen in others, how passionate runners are about this race. And, whether you're local to major events or not, there are ways to use that passion to build and better connect your community for any athletic event.

A Workout & A Watch Party

It takes a little advanced planning (what doesn't?), though hosting a group workout for your clients, followed by a front row seat, with food and refreshments, along the race course to cheer on the runners or event participants, can help build and enhance that community feel among your clients.

Pre-Race Day Fundraising Events

The bulk of Boston's runners aren't professional athletes; they're everyday people like us, like you, and like your clients, looking for a challenge and to do some good in the world.

This last part's especially significant, as many runners have committed to raising funds for charitable organizations. And, where they have fundraising minimums, you can help out.

Here are a few ways how:

  • Have an ebook for sale? Dedicate a % of the sales to an athlete's fundraising efforts.
  • Have a personal training studio? Host workouts where the cost of entry is a charitable donation. Be sure to include current clients and encourage their inviting friends, family, and other connections.
  • Are you an online trainer? Host a virtual workout in the same way.
  • Are you an online trainer who wants an in-person day? Partner with local companies with space available so that everyone benefits.

It's up to you how you deliver workouts. If your focus is on 1:1 training, you may want to stick to that sort of presentation. Though, if you'd have fun conducting a group workout every now and then, it can minimize your time commitment, while allowing you to present to a larger audience of current and potential, future clients all at once.

Get Everyone Involved

One of Boh's passions is preparing clients to move well and put their hard work to good use outside the 4 walls of their training space.

What better way to do that than to step from the spectator area to the starting line!

It's what we're doing with our Climb to the Top: Boston 2024 team in climbing the stairs of Gillette Stadium in support of the National MS Society!

As you're putting groups like this together, keep in mind that some team members will be super competitive, wanting to get their best times. And, others will want the support of teammates leading up to and during the event.

You can certainly cater to both, making the training and event day experience exceptional for everyone!

Go Get 'Em!

Become known as the personal trainer who makes this type of meaningful impact and the doors of opportunity and prosperity will open for you!

Hi there, Boh here and today we're talking about pricing transparency, and whether, why, and how personal trainers should communicate their rates to prospective clients before a consultation session. The thinking goes: Not displaying rates allows you to schedule more consultations overall Displaying rates results in fewer, but better-qualified consultations As I've been building my new personal training company, and documenting every step and decision inside Epicenter Training's Online...

Hi there, Boh here! When I was personally training full-time, I always combined my racing with fundraising. Maybe it's because Marathon Monday is right around the corner, but I'm feeling inspired to get back into it. So, we've created an Epicenter Training team for the Climb to the Top: Boston 2024 at Gillette Stadium with funds going to the National MS Society. Date & Location: Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Gillette Stadium Requirements: $250 fundraising commitment per participant We're accepting...

There are several ways to go about it, though here are our faves: Network Reactivation Whether you're just starting your business or looking to scale, it helps when your existing network knows what you do and what you need. Here are 3 steps to making this work: Make a list of people to contact. It's best if these are 1st tier connections of yours...
